Good evening, this is Rich Shepler, principal of Warren Central High School.
As we return from fall intersession we will begin making plans for the second semester. On Friday, October 23rd, we will send out a Google Form asking high school families to notify us if they would like to change from hybrid in-person to fully virtual or from fully virtual to in-person. Only families wishing to change their current placement will need to fill out the form. Additionally, please be aware that we reserve the right to ask students to return to in-person instruction if they are not finding success virtually. All families must complete the form by Sunday, November 8th at 11:59 pm. No placement changes will be accepted after this date.
I hope you received your student’s report card last week. Please carefully review all information included in the mailing. It is our expectation that all students complete all assignments in each class they are taking, whether hybrid or virtual. Students should engage in all learning opportunities in all classes. Please encourage your student to turn in any outstanding work and engage in all classes every day. Coursework and final grades will factor into the semester grade which will determine credit attainment and impact a student’s overall GPA and ability to earn a diploma. If you do not receive your child’s report card by the end of the week please contact the school office at 317.532.6200.
Students looking for academic support can begin attending Jog tutoring starting on Monday, October 19, 2020, from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm in the West Cafeteria. Tutoring will focus on CORE classes. Food will be provided by Chartwells and transportation will also be available to take students home. This opportunity is for all students, both hybrid and fully virtual. The schedule is:
Monday- 2023 Cohort with Mr. Jacob
Tuesday- 2024 Cohort with Mr. Steimel
Wednesday-2021 Cohort with Mr. Rusununguko
Thursday-2022 Cohort with Mr. Russell
As you heard in the superintendent’s update Wednesday, our black and gold schedule will change when we return from break. Mondays and Wednesdays will be Black scheduled IN-PERSON days. Tuesday and Thursday will be Gold scheduled IN-PERSON days. Fridays will alternate between Black and Gold.
The following Fridays are BLACK scheduled IN-PERSON days.
October 23rd, November 6th, November 20th, December 11th.
The following Fridays are GOLD scheduled IN-PERSON days.
October 30th, November 13th, December 4th.
Students in grades 7-12 VIRTUAL will also follow this schedule. This calendar adjustment will take place on Monday, October 19th.
