A Message from the Superintendent...

WFYI's No Limits kicks off the 2013 Indy Talks series on Indy's kids and education success. Guests included Warren Township Schools Superintendent Dena Cushenberry, John Bridgeland - President of the Washington D.C. public policy firm Civic Enterprises, Bob Balfanz - co-director of the Everyone Graduates Center and research scientist at the Johns Hopkins Center for Social Organization of Schools.

On behalf of all of us in the MSD Warren Township School District, I would like to welcome you to our web page. Warren Township Schools have a long and distinguished history of service to children and families. We are proud of our students. They continue to achieve at high levels and make significant contributions to our community. Just as important as academic excellence, a heavy emphasis is placed on civility, personal responsibility and a commitment to post-school success in a democratic society. 
 

Meet the Superintendent

Dr. Dena Cushenberry has been in public education for over thirty-one years. She started her career with MSD Warren Township in 1999. During that time she has been an assistant principal at the middle school level and principal at the elementary. Dr. Cushenberry opened Liberty Park Elementary School in 2002-2003 and in 2008 Liberty Park was recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School. In 2008, Dr. Cushenberry moved to central office where she served as the Associate and Deputy Superintendent from 2008-2012. She was appointed as Superintendent in April of 2012.

2013-2014 School Age Child Care Services

School Age Child Care is available for students in kindergarten through 6th grade (5th & 6th graders have after school care only).  Before school hours are 6:00 - 8:40 a.m.; after school hours are 3:30 - 6:00 p.m.

HERBICIDE/PESTICIDE APPLICATION

Weather permitting, on Monday May 20th or Tuesday May 21st our Grounds Department will spray the exterior of the Warren Education and Community Center for the treatment of clover mites.  They will use Bug Be Gone Max on the exterior of the building.  Copies of the Material Safety Data Sheet are available upon request. SUMMER SPORT CAMPS

Several sport camps will be conducted this summer. These are a great way to stay fit and learn techniques and skills to help take an athlete "to the next level."  Please access the flyer(s) below.

WARRIOR SUMMER FUN

The Warren Early Childhood Center will offer a Summer Camp program for children age 3-11 years old (as of June 3, 2013).  The camp opens on June 3, 2013 and ends on July 19, 2013.  More information>>>    Registration form>>>

 

The Twenty-first Century Scholars Program began in 1990 as Indiana's way of raising the educational aspirations of low- and moderate-income families. The program aims to ensure that all Indiana families can afford a college education for their children.  Income-eligible 7th and 8th graders who enroll in the program and fulfill a pledge of good citizenship to the state are guaranteed the cost of four years of undergraduate college tuition at any participating public college or university in Indiana.

THE INDIANAPOLIS PUBLIC LIBRARY

The Indianapolis Public Library offers many programs for adults and children including The Job Center, work one-on-one with WorkOne and the Library staff to find a job, the Language Lab, learn or renew your knowledge of another language, The Bunny Book Bag Program, pre-selected and prepackaged picture books, and many more services.  Access their website for more information>>>

  • Got Homework?  Here's Help!  Get real answers to your homework questions seven days a week, 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.  (Also available in Spanish, check for days and times.)  Students, grades 4-12, can chat live with online tutors about Math, Science, English and Social Studies.
  • INSPIRE, a service of the Indiana State Library, houses the Student Research Center.  The Center offers a variety of resources for term papers, projects, and reports.  Access INSPIRE>>> and select "Student Research Center."THE INDIANAPOLIS PUBLIC LIBRARY

The Warren Aquatics Club is a year round competitive swim team offering high quality professional coaching and technique instruction for all ages and abilities. The goal of our team is to provide every member an opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve success at his or her level of ability, from novice to international competitor.Warren Aquatics Club also offers swim lessons for beginners.  The Club uses the pool located at Warren Central High School and serves as a feeder system for the high school.  Visit their website for more information -- www.warrenaquaticsclub.com

 

The annual IDOE parent survey will be coming home soon to parents who have students receiving special education services in Warren.  A new option this year will be to take the survey online instead of the paper copy if preferred.   Please complete the paper or online survey before the end of the school year.  Thank you.

Important Information Regarding Paying Textbook Rental

Attention Parents: YOU CAN NO LONGER USE THE PARENT PORTAL TO PAY FOR YOUR 2012/2013 TEXTBOOKS. If you still owe, you will need to send a check, money order or cash to "MSD Warren Township 975 N. Post Road Indianapolis, IN 46219."  All unpaid textbook rental invoices are being turned over to Statewide Collection Association-unless you have already spoken to the TBR department.  Reminder, you can still pay Warren Township directly for this years textbooks.  Any questions or concerns, please call 317-869-4389.

PESTICIDE NOTIFICATION REGISTRY

The Indiana Pesticide Review Board has regulations that impact how school corporations may use pesticides on school grounds.  MSD Warren Township follows these guidelines and we are inviting parents and guardians to join our Pesticide Notification Registry.  By signing up for this registry, you will be notified at least 48 hours prior to a pesticide application at your child’s school, subject to certain exceptions.  If you would like to participate, please complete the form and return to your child's school.  You will be invited to sign up for this notification EACH SCHOOL YEAR.
