August 11 Update Graphic

August 11, 2021

Good Afternoon Warren Students, Families, and Staff,

We have a few important announcements for the week of August 11th.

It has been a great first two weeks of the 21-22 school year. Our teachers and staff have done an incredible job of welcoming students back to school and building relationships with them. I was reminded that for many of our students it has been over 500 days since they have been in person for learning. We have to be mindful of this and be intentional with supporting our students with their academic, social, and emotional well-being. If you see your child struggling with settling into this school year, please reach out to your child’s teacher, your child’s school counselor, or administrator. Our students will benefit from us working together in supporting their growth.

Although the majority of our students are in person for learning, a reminder that if your student has a need for a home internet access device to complete their school work, T-Mobile hotspots are available at no charge at the parent help desk at the Moorhead Community Resource Center. These may also be requested through your student’s school or our online parent support on the "Parent Tech Info" page of our website. High School students may pick up their hotspots through the Counseling office.

I am excited to share that the Warren Township Council PTA is hosting their annual Homefest event from 4 - 7 p.m. on Friday, September 3, 2021. As part of this tradition, students in PK-8 are invited to participate in the Fun Run. Additionally, each elementary school and intermediate middle school’s PTA will be involved and will provide games for kids of all ages. Come see our high school students take on WCHS staff in a kickball game and, last but not least, purchase food from some of our local food trucks. Please check  here for additional details. We also invite our students, staff, and families to attend the home football game that night against North Central.

I encourage you to visit our website or our ParentSquare posts for information previously shared.

Thank you parents and staff for getting the 2021-2022 school year off to a great start. We look forward to working together as our students need us more than ever.

Have a great rest of your week and thank you for your continued investment in Warren students and schools.

Dr. Tim Hanson, Superintendent of Schools for MSD Warren Township
