Greetings, this is Mrs. Taylor, proud principal of Warren Central High School and the Renaissance School,
What a wonderful first full day of school! It was exciting to welcome all of our students and staff back together as we kicked off the new school year. The positive energy throughout the building was incredible, and I want to thank everyone for helping make it such a successful day. As we begin our first full week of school, let's continue building on that momentum.
Attendance remains one of our highest priorities. We encourage every student to be present, on time, and actively engaged in learning each day. The State of Indiana now includes attendance as one of the criteria for earning a Graduation Seal on a high school diploma, making consistent attendance more important than ever. Developing strong attendance habits now helps ensure students stay on track academically and graduate ready for their future.
I am also excited to report that our first day under our updated personal device expectations was a tremendous success. That tells us our students understand the expectations and are committed to creating classrooms that are focused and free from distractions. Thank you to our staff, students, and families for supporting this important initiative. Together, we are helping students power down so they can power up in their learning!
Renaissance Program Transportation & Arrival Reminder
As we begin the school year, we'd like to share a few important reminders to help ensure a safe and smooth arrival and dismissal for all Renaissance students.
School Hours: The Renaissance school day is
9:15 a.m. – 1:50 p.m.
Unless a student has an approved altered or modified schedule, students
should not arrive before 9:00 a.m.
Morning Arrival: All Renaissance students should enter through
Door 40
, located on the
south side of the building off 16th Street
. Students arriving after
9:15 a.m.
should report through
Door 1
, unless other arrangements have been made.
Car Rider Drop-Off: Families dropping students off should use
Door 40
. Please be mindful of buses traveling through the area and ensure students exit vehicles promptly and move directly to the sidewalk.
Afternoon Pick-Up: Car riders should be picked up at the
southwest end of the bus lot near Lot 4 (by practice football field off of 16th)
. For the safety of our students and staff,
please do not enter the bus lot during afternoon dismissal
, as bus traffic significantly increases at that time.
Safety Reminder: Please
do not drop students off along 16th Street
. Doing so creates a significant safety hazard for students and motorists.
Thank you for your partnership in helping us maintain a safe and orderly arrival and dismissal process for our Renaissance students.
If you have any questions or need clarification, please do not hesitate to contact the school. We are always happy to assist.
Have a great Evening!
