Students in our AP Art program recently traveled to Chicago for a field trip filled with inspiration and real-world connections. The group visited the National Museum of Mexican Art, explored world-renowned works at the Art Institute of Chicago, and spent time taking in the sights at Millennium Park!


Last night, Fashion teacher Mrs. DeMoss was awarded with the 2026 AAFCS Indiana Teacher of the Year. As traditional, a Waterford crystal piece was gifted, and she received a beautiful vase. This Fall she will complete the process for the 2027 National Teacher of the Year as Indiana’s representative. Congratulations!!


Last night, the Top 30 in the class of 2026 were recognized, as were the teachers they selected to honor in thanks. Several of our WCC teachers were on hand to be recognized! We are grateful and so proud of our students!

Shout out to our very own Chef Shoemaker, competing in a qualifying event for the World Food Championships which take place in October at the State Fairgrounds! Chef, along with former Culinary student Lindsey assisting, earned the golden ticket to move on in the competition!!




Junior Health Science students recently had the incredible opportunity to visit the IU Van Nuys Medical Science Building for an authentic cadaver lab experience. During this impactful field trip, students respectfully interacted with human donors and observed real anatomical structures used in medical education, bringing their classroom learning to life in a powerful and memorable way.



We are proud to recognize sophomore Jaymes Balch Jr. as this week’s Walker Career Center Student of the Week in Auto Collision! Jaymes has shown tremendous growth throughout the school year, consistently building his skills and confidence in the shop. His natural talent is especially evident in his refinishing and painting work, where his attention to detail and steady improvement continue to set him apart.

Congratulations to our Robotics team the Digital Goats for winning the Team Spirit Award and securing their spot in the state finals in a couple weeks! Awesome job!

Career Week continued yesterday in the WCC with Automotive and Transportation Day!





It's Career Week, and we got it started off in a big way! Hundreds of our Walker Career Center students got to meet with industry professionals in the Business, Healthcare, and Hospitality fields on Tuesday






This week, we are proud to recognize Dillian Johnson as our Walker Career Center Student of the Week. Dillian is a dedicated student in the Masonry program and consistently demonstrates the qualities that make him stand out both in the classroom and in the lab!
