The High Ability Program Parent Recommendation Form for the 2021-2022 school year is now available!
Students are identified and placed in a Talent Pool based on state and district criteria, which may include achievement test scores, student ability, parent and teacher recommendation.
Parent recommendations are considered but do not guarantee placement into the High Ability Program.
Excel criteria
Grade 2
• NWEA (Northwest Evaluation Association) score 85% or higher in Reading or Math
• CogAT Ability Test
• Teacher Recommendation
• Parent Recommendation
Grades 3 - 6
• NWEA (Northwest Evaluation Association) score 85% or higher in Language Arts, Reading or Math

Grades 7 – 9
• NWEA (Northwest Evaluation Association) score 85% or higher in Language Arts, Reading or Math
