Warrior Launch

Warren Central High School concluded its pilot 2025 Warrior Launch, a strategic, week-long series of workshops designed to facilitate the transition from high school to college. 40 of our most recent graduated seniors from Warren Central High School (WCHS) participated in this program. Held from June 6 to June 13, the daily workshops ran from 9:30 AM to 11:45 AM in the familiar halls of WCHS, focusing on critical life and college readiness skills.

Thanks to generous support from the Richard M. Fairbanks Foundation through the College Matters Reversing the Trend Grant, students who completed all five days of the program earned a $500 stipend to put toward their college expenses—an immediate investment in their future.

Throughout the week, students engaged in interactive sessions covering key topics essential for college life:

  • People and Places: This session helped students find what they need for academics, advisory, housing and meal plans, and everything else they need to land safely on campus in the fall.

  • Where to Go for Help: Recognizing that mental health and wellness are a key part of college success. This workshop focused on strategies to support mental health and specific coping strategies when encountering challenges. Mental health services both on campus, online, and through helplines (text/call) were provided to students.

  • Financial Literacy: from understanding their financial aid package and scholarships to budgeting for expenses - students learned how to navigate money management and budgeting.
