As the new Assistant Director of Exceptional Learners in MSD Warren Township, Cynthia Arnold brings with her a passion for inclusive education and a clear vision for empowering all learners. She joins Warren Township with more than 15 years of experience in classrooms and educational leadership.
“My passion for education has always been rooted in the belief that every child deserves access to high-quality learning experiences, no matter their background or ability,” she shared.
Before her journey in education began, Cynthia transitioned into education from a career in social services, working in the foster care system within the state of Michigan.
“I often say that this career found me,” she reflected. “But a love for educating students with diverse learning became my passion.”
Cynthia’s educational career began in Center Grove Schools, where she taught in a Life Skills classroom before moving into resource and inclusion roles across Center Grove and Washington Township. Her leadership was instrumental in launching Washington Township’s first Intensive Intervention classroom at the middle school level. Most recently, she served as a Learning Community Director with Indianapolis Public Schools, overseeing special education and related services across multiple schools.
Now stepping into her new role in Warren Township, Cynthia is energized by the opportunity to help shape student outcomes through collaborative leadership and innovative instructional practices.
“This is a district where high expectations are paired with meaningful support,” she said. “I was inspired to join a team that prioritizes both student success and educator growth.”
"This role allows me to collaborate with building and district leaders to overcome barriers to student achievement and ensure that every learner is supported through high-quality instruction, meaningful relationships, and equitable opportunities. I’m also thrilled to collaborate with educators across the district to support instructional planning, peer collaboration, and implementation of our new reading curriculum—helping us invest in academic excellence and meet the needs of all learners through evidence-based practices."
She’s particularly excited about some of the following inactive and goals:
Collaborating with the Teaching and Learning team to implement the new reading curriculum.
Supporting our district Life Skills and Functional Academics programs.
Assisting with the transition to a new IEP system to improve clarity, compliance, and personalization.
Strengthening data-driven systems to provide targeted support for exceptional learners.
Celebrating the successes of students, staff, and educators—while cultivating JOY in the Journey.
We’re excited to welcome Cynthia Arnold to Warren Township!
