The holiday spirit was alive and overflowing at the Moorhead Community Resource Center as the JD Finish Line Foundation partnered with MCRC to host this year’s Christmas Gift Giveaway—an event filled with food, fun, and heartfelt generosity for 100 Warren Township students.
Rijenna Murray, Program Coordinator at Moorhead, said this year’s celebration was bigger than ever. “Finish Line has graciously offered to cover Christmas gifts for 101 of our Warren Township school students,” Murray shared. “The kiddos gave them a list of items they wanted, and they went above and beyond. There are bikes, big heavy boxes—what the kids asked for, they probably got today.”
With 18 Finish Line volunteers on-site, the focus was on connection as much as celebration. “We really wanted them interacting with our families so they can see why this was so important,” Murray added. “We hope these families feel a little extra love and care this evening.”
Families enjoyed photos with Santa, hot chocolate, games, bingo, and a wide assortment of prizes. “We already see smiles on their faces,” Murray said. “And they have no idea what’s in store for them yet.”

For JD Finish Line Foundation Engagement Coordinator Emoni Smith, the event represents the heart of their mission. “This is one of the most heartfelt events we do,” Smith said. “Our employees—from stores to distribution—help fulfill each child’s Christmas wish list. We want to support underrepresented communities and make sure every child has a great holiday.”
Thanks to this continued partnership, Warren families experienced a night of joy, generosity, and true community spirit.
